MOPS Fall Fundraisers

Our MOPS group has some fantastic fall fundraisers this year! Like we mentioned in our last meeting, fundraising money goes directly to support our MOPS group, allowing us to continue to have fantastic childcare for our little ones, supplies (like crafts and paper goods), excellent speakers, and any other expenses we come across throughout the year. So here is our line up of fundraisers:

Texas Roadhouse Rolls

Order forms for the Texas Roadhouse Rolls were passed out at our last meeting (ask for one at our October 14 meeting if you missed it!), and you can gather orders until October 28, when you'll need to bring back your order forms. The rolls are just $5 per dozen and $3 of each dozen sold goes directly to our MOPS group! Of course, the famous cinnamon honey butter comes with your rolls! The rolls will come fresh, but you can easily freeze them until you are ready to bake. The rolls will be at our November 9 meeting so that you can distribute them in time for the holidays.

Fall Photos

Kendra Lanterman will be out photographer for all three days October 17, 18, & 19th!  Sign ups will be at our next meeting on October 14th. The cost is $50 and you can pay by cash, check, or credit card when you reserve your slot at our meeting.  Each session is 30 minutes and Kendra will shoot several photos in several different poses and backgrounds.  Each family will get 5 digital photos included with their $50 and then will be able to buy more from Kendra directly for $10 each.  

We will have 2 different locations:  Friday the 17th & Saturday the 18th will be at a new location in downtown Golden near 10th and Washington near Clear Creek.  There is a bridge, barn, and trees for different beautiful shots. Here are a few examples (not taken by Kendra) of this location:

Sunday the 19th will be near Excel Academy in Arvada, meeting at a pull-off area off Simms & 83rd Lane. There are lots of beautiful trees for background there. Here are some examples from from last year at this location:

October Blast

Foothills Community Church, where we meet for MOPS, puts on a fantastic October Blast party each year for Halloween. Our MOPS group sets up a bake sale at the event to fundraise. First and foremost, we need your delicious baked goods for the sale! We will be taking baked goods donations at our meeting on October 28. We also need mamas to volunteer their time to help package the treats on Wednesday, October 29, and to help at the event on Friday, October 31.

Interested in Being a Discussion Group Leader?

Hello MOPS Mamas!

It's Lori Woods. I am the new Discussion Group Leader (DGL) Coordinator for Foothills MOPS 2014-2105 Year.

I hope that you're each thoroughly enjoying your summer vacations! I certainly am, although I am also eagerly anticipating our next year of MOPS! We have a few options left open on the leadership team, a few of which are DGLs. A Discussion Group Leader is nothing more than a "table leader" or a "conversation leader." We need a few more gals to volunteer for this position. Its a great way to get to know even more girls in the group and to develop some amazing friendships. As a DGL, you'll mostly be in charge of helping guide honest and healthy conversation at your table.  There is also a small job to organize your tables food prep schedule and setup/cleanup before and after our meetings. DGLs meet with our leadership team once a month as well to discuss our next month's meetings. Please send us an email if you would be interested in this fun and rewarding position with Foothills MOPS.

Registration Nights! (Come and register early!)

Hello lovely mamas! We hope you all are enjoying your summer!

Are you ready for another fantastic year at MOPS? The last week of June, you will have the opportunity to register for the 2014/2014 Foothills MOPS year. Registering now will save you from filling out lots of paperwork at our first meeting on September 9, giving you time to relax and enjoy then.

Need more reasons to come? If 20 or more moms register at these nights, Foothills MOPS will have two scholarships for the coming year paid for! Plus, registration for MOPS International will be $21.95 instead of $24.95. Another perk? You'll get to meet a few moms who will be leading MOPS this year and connect with MOPS friends!

Join us Wednesday, June 25, and Thursday, June 26 from 6:30 to 8:00pm at Foothills Community Church. We will be located where Haven's Hope and 2nd Chance Thrift Store are in the Fitness Center Meeting Room. This location is in the opposite corner of the plaza of where we would normally meet for MOPS meetings. You will need to pay your registration fee of $21.95, so please bring a check, debit card, credit card, or cash. Please send us an email if you have any questions!

So come join us for registration nights the last week in June, and bring a friend! We'll even have a few giveaways, so you won't want to miss this. See you there!

Spring Photo Signup at our March 11 Meeting!

Sign up for Spring Kiddo Photo sessions will be Tuesday March 11, on a first-come, first-signed up basis. There will be sign up sheets when you first walk in, your $50 check secures your spot. This is a fun way to get great photos and support MOPS, because it is a fundraiser for us.

Photos will take place in 30 minute sessions between 9-5pm Thurs Mar 27, Fri Mar 28, and Sat Mar 29 in Olde Town Arvada. (The photo above is my daughter, showing off one of the cool locations there!)

• Thursday Mar 27 and Friday Mar 28 photos will be taken by Julia Morgan of http://www.jmostudio.com/.

Meal Planning with Lacy of Laughing Lemon Pie at our Jan. 14th Meeting

Do you dread that 6pm question... "Mom! What's for dinner?!?"

Well, then our own Lacy Boggs (hey! that's me!) is here to help!  I'll be talking about healthy meal planning and overcoming obstacles at our next meeting, and it should be a blast! 

Aside from being your ever-faithful publicity coordinator, I'm also an award-winning food writer, and mom to a two-year-old foodie.  If you want to find out more about me and my meal planning suggestions and solutions, hop on over to my food blog, Laughing Lemon Pie.

What to Expect:

We'll be starting off with some fun table discussion questions during breakfast before Lacy gets up to speak about meal planning.  Plus, there will be time AFTER the speaker to talk with your table about your own meal planning problems and solutions. Brooke will be collecting dues for the first quarter, and Kim will be introducing our service project for February.

Don't Forget:

• Bring your checkbook; dues for the first quarter of 2014 are due at this meeting
• Orange, Pink, and Yellow tables are bringing food
